About

Hey, I’m GeekyG. I’m a WordPress web designer by trade and a beloved Red Sox fan forever. I also enjoy critiquing restaurants, but my wallet doesn’t always share the same enthusiasm for dining out.

If you’re wondering why my username is GeekyG, it’s because I am geeky…and my name starts with G. It’s not rocket science, but I like to think it’s catchy.

I’ve been in the web design industry for over ten years now, and let me tell you, things have changed a lot. Gone are the days of static websites with basic layouts and boring colors. Now, we have animations, parallax effects, and vibrant color schemes that make your website pop! It’s an exciting time to be a web designer, and I’m proud to be a part of it.

There are hidden challenges of being a web designer: clients yearning for a website that rivals the big brand names, oblivious to the immense effort required to achieve those designs. And let’s not overlook the financial implications. These clients often operate on shoestring budgets and unforgiving time constraints. The constant battle between aesthetics and functionality. It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it.

As someone who loves all things nerdy and techy, I couldn’t imagine doing anything else, and

I want to share some template code

you can customize, as well as other tips, tricks, and references.

When I’m not designing websites or rooting for my beloved Red Sox, I usually do things around the house, work out, or binge-watch

action-packed movies

– or, as my wife and I affectionately refer to them,

chick flicks

Lately, we’ve been particularly drawn to the thrilling world of spies.

Embracing the power of open-source

I have an unwavering belief in sharing code. Yes, knowledge is power, but sharing is wealth and

Wealth is knowledge

I share what I have learned so others may reap and prosper only to share again. Just like code, it’s built upon one line of code at a time.

I created this website to share what I’ve learned and what fellow geeks have learned. From design tips to code snippets, you’ll find it all here.

I hope my love for WordPress and web design shines through on this website. And if not, well, then maybe my obsession with the Red Sox will. Either way, I hope you enjoy your time here! Now, let’s get geeky and design some awesome websites together. Cheers to all the fellow web designers out there!
